Gta5 is a open world a open world action adventure game set in Rockstars take in LA called Los Santos. The game follows 3 main characters Michael, Franklin and trevor. Each Character has their Unique personality such as there own background and storyline.

The game wold is massive and full of things to do outside of the main story such as side missions random events, racing, sports and just exploring. Gta V also includes GTA online wich allows players to play with others online in the same world because of this the game feels less like something you finish once and more like a game you can have your 2 week phase on.

Studio

Gta was Developed by rockstar Games a studio that is known for making very detailed and realistic open world games. Rockstar Games has been around since 1993 and has created some of the biggest and most successful games in the industry such as the Gta franchise and the red dead franchise. They also made bully and max Payne also, They are known for taking a long time to develop there games so they can make sure everything is polished and high quality.

Release and Outcome

Gta V was first released in 2013 on ps3 and xbox 360 and later released on ps4 and xbox One, PC. when the game launched it was instant success and broke multiple records. It became one of the fastest selling entertainment products ever and received extremely positive reviews from critics think its the only time critics liked a game lol.

The game was praised for its open word, story, characters and technical quality. Financially, GTA V was also a massive success making billions over time. A large part of the success came from GTA online which continued to receive updates until December 2025. Even more than a decade later GTA V is still one of the most popular games in the world with player count.

Legacy

GTA V has had a big impact on gaming mainly because how long it has stayed popular. most games are played for a few years and then forgotten but GTA V has stayed relevant for over ten years. This is mostly because of GTA Online, which kept bringing players back with new content and updates.

GTA V also set a high standard for open world games The size of the map the amount of detail and how and how much freedom the player has showed what was possible in a modern open world game because of this many games released after Gta 5 were compared to it Even today Gta 5 is still one of the most played games in the world which shows how strong its legacy is.

Modding

Modding has played a big part in keeping Gta V popular on pc Mods allow players to change or add new things to the game such as cars, graphics upgrades, realistic police systems, roleplay servers (Like FiveM) and different gameplay mechanics with mods, you can also get a mod called LSPDFR that lets you play as a police officer its fun for 5 minutes then its boring lol. Gta V can feel like a completely different game compared to the base version which is why a lot of players still come back to it years later.

However, modding in gtaV is a pain in the fucking arse to do and takes ages while the final result is usually worth it, one wrong mod can break the hole game. Most of the time you don't even know which mod caused the problem, so you have to remove them one by one to find the issue another big problem is game updates because when rockstar update gta V, many mods stop working straight away.

Most script mods rely on tools like Script Hook V and when the game updates players sometimes have to wait a long time for it to update as well. Despite this the modding community has helped extend the life of gta v massively and is one of the main reasons the game is still popular today and is why I play it sometimes.
